Children's Museum

My week off from work is flying by. I can't believe it's already Wednesday! Hopefully the days will start to slow down! I took Evan to the Children's Museum this morning to let him play and explore. He had a lot of fun and didn't want to leave!! Here are some pictures of him playing.

Ho, Ho, Ho, - or should I say Snow, Snow, Snow!

Our original Christmas plans of going to my sister's house were changed by mother nature. We ended up staying in Fargo due to the blizzard that was supposed to hit Christmas day. Well, it sure did!! We were fortunate enough to be able to get together with some of my family that was in town on Christmas Eve. Christmas Day, however, was a different story. We stayed at home that day because of the blizzard. In town travel was even dangerous. There are a lot of pictures on this post - I took lots of pictures while house bound for a few days!

This is our front steps after Wednesday - the beginning of the snow.

This was taken Saturday morning - the day the blizzard finally stopped.

If you look closely, you can see how high the snow piles are at the end of the driveway. The pile on the left comes up to my shoulders. Where in the world are we going to put anymore snow this winter when it comes!!!

Sledding fun....actually you can't tell because of his scarf, but Evan did not consider this fun.

He preferred to just run around!

Helping the neighbor shovel is more fun than sledding!!

Christmas Eve

Santa was very good to Evan this Christmas. He has so many new toys to play with. He has been putting them to good use already. Thanks for all the great gifts everyone!

Snuggling with the new blanket that Grandma Jan made.

Evan now gets to go to bed in a "Keen" bed!! He loves his new sheets!

We will be going to my sister Sara's for Christmas so we decided to give Evan his "big" present this morning. There was no way we were going to drag it along for the ride!

Hmmmm......what is it???

Ooooo.....a tool bench!! Wow!!

I knew there was going to be some assembly required, but geez! Sean and I looked at each other and said whoops..we should have put it together last night. Evan was very patient during the assembly process. Here is a "before" picture....

And an "after" picture....

He played with it all morning and then a good portion of the evening. Now I just need to find a good spot for it. Merry Christmas to everyone!!

Early Christmas

This past weekend we celebrated Christmas with Sean's dad and step-mom. We had fun visiting and the boys had fun getting some new toys!

Evan and his cousin both got neat remote control dinosaurs.

Helping Grandpa open a present.

More neat dino stuff!!

Saying thank you!
I had to help Evan open most of his presents. I thought he would like ripping the paper off, but he wasn't too interested. Hopefully he will be warmed up for the next Christmas party!
A cute close up of Evan's big brown eyes! He sure is cute!!

"Keen" car

I don't really have much to report from our weekend. Evan and I ran a couple of errands, but otherwise we stayed home. It snowed most of Sunday, but Evan and I braved the light snow and went to Target. I mainly needed to get diapers for him. I never seem to get out of Target without a couple of additional items that are not on my list. I found some Christmas wrapping paper for Evan with Mickey Mouse and Lightning McQueen on it and boy did he LOVE it. I could hardly get it out of his hands to pay for it!! Here is a picture of him riding his McQueen car or "Keen" as Evan would say. It is usually an outside toy, but he loves it so much it has now become an inside winter toy.

It's here...bummer

This is a picture of what it looked like outside when I got home today. The snow finally came. I knew it had to come someday, but I sure was hoping for a few more nice days without it. I had planned to go to Sam's Club after work today, but went straight home because the roads were starting to get slick. I'm sure they won't be fun going to work tomorrow. Evan was amazed with all the white stuff outside. It took him a while to take it all in!

Here he is trying to pick up the snow from the rug. He tried for quite awhile to pick it up, but it kept melting between his fingers!!

The cold snow made me feel like making some warm chocolate chip cookies after dinner. Evan tried one....you can see for yourself how much he enjoyed it. I'll just say it was straight to the tub after the cookie!!

Yummy!

Messy boy!!!!!!

Evan and I had a fun weekend with my family while Sean
was out hunting. The kids all had fun playing together!
Here are some pictures of the kids playing...

Evan "driving" Andrew's John Deere truck.

Evan loved playing on the slide!

Aubrie kept busy riding and exploring!

The girls having fun.

The boys also had fun playing!
1 of 4 kids looking at the camera! If you can believe it this was the best shot I got! It was fun to have them all together again and see how they are all changing and growing.

Getting ready for the holidays

Evan and I put up our Christmas tree this past weekend when Sean was gone hunting. I was planning to wait until after Thanksgiving, but as you can see I was not successful in that attempt. We will be celebrating Thanksgiving Day with Sean's side of the family. My family will also be in town so we will be able to see them over the weekend too. Evan really likes the lights on the tree. He also can't keep his little fingers off the ornaments so I'm slowly having to move them all up on the tree. Pretty soon the bottom half will have no ornaments. Oh well!

This is a picture I took on my phone a couple weekends ago when we were outside playing so the quality of the picture isn't great. We have been taking advantage of this mild weather!! Hopefully it will last just a little while longer. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
